Adult/Junior 9 hole competition

Don't forget to enter our adult/ junior competition which takes place at Swanston on Sunday 18 November. Entries close 4 November. Girls don't need to have a handicap! If you don't have a partner but would like to play, let us know.

Stephen Gallacher Foundaton Flag event at Swanston

This month our 9 hole competition was held in conjunction with a Stephen Gallacher Foundation Flag event at Swanston. It was a lovely sunny day for all the boys and girls and with over 50 taking part, it was a fantastic day. Many thanks to all at Swanston Golf Club, especially Bobby Rushford who was a tremendous help in the lead up to the event and the event itself. The course was in great condition considering the weather in the past week and all the boys and girls enjoyed the course and played to a very high standard.

Well done to Midlothian girls Emma Watson, Samantha MacGregor and Lucy Morrison who were well placed in their respective categories. The winners on the day were as follows:

Well done Hannah!

Congratulations to Hannah Scott (Broomieknowe) who finished runner up in the Scottish Junior Champion of Champions' tournament over The Duke's Course, St Andrews on Saturday. Hannah finished only one shot behind winner Clara Young (North Berwick) and four ahead of her nearest rival Lauren Whyte (St Regulus). Hannah shot an excellent two under par 69 (3 under the CSS), in a round which contained 3 birdies.

Winter Foursomes Round 1

The date by which the first round of the winter foursomes has to be played has been extended by a week to 11th November.

AGM

The 93rd MCLGA AGM will be held on Wednesday 7 November at Liberton Golf Club, starting at 7.30 pm.  This will be followed by the annual prize giving.  It would be nice to see you there.  Agenda and last year's minutes below.



If you are able to come along, it would be great if you could bring something for the raffle, which is in aid of the Juniors.

Midlothian triumph at East of Scotland Championship!

Congratulations to Jane Turner (Craigielaw) who won the East of Scotland women's championship on Sunday at Kirkcaldy GC. She shot a two-under-par 70, six under the CSS. A great climax to a great year Jane - well done! Kate McIntosh (Broomieknowe) was runner up with a 72 which meant that the Midlothian team of Jane, Kate, Wendy Nicholson and Karen Marshall won the team event. Well done everyone - great end to the season and another great year for Midlothian County!
