Junior Spring Meeting 2013

The Junior Spring meeting is being held at Liberton Golf Club on Monday 1st April.

There is a singles stroke play competition for all girls with a handicap from 10am. followed by a 8 hole competition and putting  for girls without a handicap.

Entry forms  should be submitted to Sheila Stuart by 25th March 2013.
A Draw will be posted shortly thereafter.

Junior Outing to North Berwick 2013

Our annual visit to the Children's course at North Berwick is planned for Wednesday 3rd April - not 10th  as appeared on the fixture list.
All juniors are welcome - a handicap is not required.

The golf competition  will be followed by lunch for the girls in the clubhouse.
The outing and food is free of charge to the girls.

A Draw will be circulated nearer the time.

Silver Knock out draw

For those of you who are on the ball and clicked on the draw on the left hand of this page and found it was slightly different than the one you were sent - well spotted!  The webmaster had a senior moment!  It is now correct (I think) - so just double check you are playing the right opponent!

Bronze Hole and Hole Competition

You should have received an email from Hilary with the draw for the Bronze Hole and Hole Competition together with a Contact List and Competition Rules. A copy of the draw can be downloaded below. The draw can also be views in the DRAWS section on the left and the rules can be found under RULES. Attention is drawn to Items 1 and 2 of the Rules. The First Round has to be played by 17th June. As agreed, this Competition will be managed by email, (to save postage) except for those who do not have this facility. There will be no letters so please look at the draw carefully to see whether you are the Challenger or Opponent. Sheila will be the Recorder so please advise her of the results as soon as you can and she will endeavour to keep the website as up-to-date as possible. As this is the first time we have managed the competition this way, please Hilary know if there are any teething problems.

MCLGA v. Border Ladies

Our annual match against Border Ladies took place on Sunday 10th March at Eyemouth Golf Club

It was snowing when we left Edinburgh but we arrived to a clear but windy  Eyemouth.
It didn't take long before the first snow flakes appeared but the girls survived the first snow storm playing some remarkable golf considering the conditions. Special congratulations to our juniors who seemed remarkably unphased by the weather.
With the second snow storm looming and Wendy waving the white flag as she braved the 9th fairway into the teeth of the gale we decided to call a halt.

Thanks to Eyemouth for their hospitality - hot soup has never been more welcomed.

Midlothian were 3 ties to 1 up when we concluded play and we look forward to welcoming Gillian and her team to Midlothian next year in hopefully better conditions.
