Biennial Tri Am

The MCLGA Biennial TriAm will be held at Glencorse Golf Club Monday on Monday 12 August 2013. The entry fee is £30 per team. The competition is open to all Midlothian members including Associate and Juniors (with a CONGU handicap). Download an entry form below. Any problems email the webmaster. There is also a poster which you can download and put on your club notice board. Closing date is Monday 22 July.

The Junior Spring Meeting was held yesterday at Liberton Golf Club. The weather was bitterly cold but dry, bright and at times almost sunny. Ten girls took part in the handicap competition and three in the 8 hole non-handicap and putting competition. Well done to the girls for playing some great golf in difficult conditions and thanks to Liberton for their hospitality and presenting the course in great condition albeit on winter tees, despite the recent weather.

Thanks are due to President Janet, Vice Captain Zandra, and secretary Hilary for their invaluable help. Thanks also to Karen Marshall and Sharon MacPherson for their help and support and to Paul Malone our PGA Professional Development coach for coming to watch the girls in action. (Sheila)

Spring Meeting Draw

The draw for the Spring Meeting at Ratho Park Golf Club on Monday 15 April is now available under DRAWS on the left hand side of this page.




Don't forget to let Hilary know if you are no longer able to play.  And don't forget to bring a raffle prize if you can, so we can raise lots of money for junior golf this year!

MCLGA Vice Captain

Unfortunately Wendy Ross has stepped down as Midlothian Vice Captain. I should like to thank Wendy for her support to Midlothian  in her role as representative for Glencorse Golf Club where  her teams won both the 5 asides and Greensomes leagues last season. We are also grateful to her for organising the Tri am at Glencorse in August and wish her well in the future.

I am delighted  to inform you that Zandra Mathieson (Broomieknowe and Comiston Ladies) has kindly accepted my nomination as Vice Captain and the MCLGA Committee has approved Zandra's appointment with immediate effect. The appointment will be formally ratified at the next committee meeting at the end of May.

Many thanks to Zandra for agreeing to take over. I know she will be an asset to the County and that she will have the full support of County members.

Junior Competition - cancelled

Regrettably the 9 hole competition planned at Swanston today (Sunday 17th March) is cancelled as the course is icy and potentially dangerous.

Calling all Juniors!

Don't forget to get your entry in for the Junior Spring meeting at Liberton on 1 April!  There are handicap and non handicap sections.

Also the Junior knock-out competition which runs throughout the year - this is for girls with a CONGU handicap and is an opportunity to play on different courses!
