Junior 9 hole competition

Just a wee reminder that we will be holding our monthly Junior 9 hole competition at Swanston on Sunday 16th February at 10.30am.
No handicap is required and all are welcome.
Swanston Templar Course will not allow golf trolleys until the beginning of March so please come prepared to carry some clubs.
Wrap up warm as it can be very cold.
If the competition is cancelled because of adverse weather, a message will be left on this website and at the Pro Shop.
Look forward to seeing you on Sunday.

Congratulations

Congratulations to Joan Marshall who was elected as Vice President of the SLGA yesterday at it's Annual General Meeting in Perth.

Joan is a Past Captain and Past President of Midlothian as well as being an Honorary member.
She is a past County Champion having won the Championship on no fewer than 4 occasions.

She has been a selector and served on the Executive Council of the SLGA as Chairman of Training.
and has captained the Scottish Ladies team as well as the Scottish Under 21 and Senior teams.

Joan is a staunch supporter of Midlothian and a regular attender at our County matches and loves nothing better than to don her navy jumper!

Well done, Joan, we are very proud of you. You truly deserve this honour.

The Marshall golfing gene is strong. Daughter Karen is also a Midlothian County Champion and congratulations are also due to her. She was elected Captain of the Scottish Ladies team for a second year at yesterday's AGM.

Grand daughters Ella and Grace are also promising Midlothian juniors - so watch this space!

Not only are the Marshall family excellent golfers, they are an example to us all for the spirit in which they play their golf.

In addition, Past Captain Mary Richardson was elected at yesterday's AGM as East Representative and Performance Director on the SLGA. I am sure she will keep us on our toes. Well done Mary

Congratulations also to Noreen Fenton who continues in her role as East Division Selector.

Swanston 9 hole Junior Competition

Four Juniors played 9 holes on a very muddy Swanston Templar this morning. Despite the overnight rain and being wet underfoot some good scores were achieved. Unfortunately we were told at the last minute that they couldn't use trolleys and had to use mats if playing from the fairways.
This may also be the case in  February .

1st Carys Irvine  41
2nd Lucy Morrison  52 wins on last three hole count back
3rd Heidi Steel  52

Very well done to all of you who turned up to play.

Erratum

Sincere apologies to the Merchant's Greensome team.
The Newsletter in the recent subscription renewal mailing incorrectly stated that Glencorse had beaten Merchants in the Greensomes play off whereas, in fact, Merchants were the winners with Glencorse the runners up.

Under Armour Fleeces and Polos

Last season Zenith Structural were kind enough to sponsor team outfits of custom made Under Armour fleeces and polo shirts. These were very popular with the Squad and admired by many. Under Armour would be prepared to supply more garments for sale to Midlothian members if we could guarantee a minimum order.

The Team are wearing the outfits in both the East of Scotland and Scottish finals team photos on this web site and they are also shown below.

You will be asked in your subscription letter if you would consider purchasing either or both and if you reply in the affirmative you will be emailed shortly with further details. We will be asking for payment in advance from those who confirm an order. Alternatively you can simply email me at sheila.rstuart@tiscali.co.uk if you are interested in finding out more. Thank you.
