Stephen Gallagher Foundation Trophy and Vase

Well done to one of our Juniors, Carys Irvine, for coming 13th in this competition at Cardrona

Scottish School Girls

This competition was cut short to only 18 holes due to imminent thunder and lightening.

Our Megan Linton, last years Junior Champion won the handicap trophy with a net 67.

Brilliant , well done Megan.

Scottish Open Amateur

What a close match for the final of the Scottish Amateur between our Gabrielle Macdonald from
Craigielaw and Ailsa Summers from Carnoustie. Gabrielle was 2 down at the third but got back to all square. The match was then pretty even until Gabrielle hit a shot into the 16th green that was a bit wide and then was just below the lip of the bunker at the 17th. Ailsa took full advantage of this to win out 2 and one.

Gabrielle Macdonald being handed the runners up trophy from The Captain of West Kilbride

Friday had been another exciting day for our Midlothian players. Wendy Nicholson won through to the Clarke Rosebowl finals by beating Ruth Hunter.
Despite trying to do one of her great fight backs she lost the final to Jennifer Rankine. Well done Wendy.

From left to right Hannah Scott from Broomieknowe, Karen Marshall from Baberton, Gabrielle Macdonald from Craigielaw, Wendy Nicholson from Baberton and Kate McIntosh from Broomieknowe.

Others who also played were Louise Fraser from Kingknowe, Alison McBride for Harburn and Carys Irvine one of our juniors from Craigielaw. She played really well for her first time in this competition reaching the matchplay stages of the Rosebowl.

Well done girls you put up a great show in the most amazing weather on a wonderful course by the sea.

Good day at Scottish Amateur at West Kilbride

What a beautiful day at West Kilbride.

The weather has been really kind to all those taking part in the Scottish Amateur Open over the last three days.

Our Midlothian golfers have done us proud again . Gabrielle Macdonald, Karen Marshall, Kate McIntosh , Alison McBride and Louise Fraser all qualified for the main matchplay competition. Wendy Nicholson, Hannah Scott and Carys Irvine all qualified for the Rosebowl competirion.

The golf was as good as the weather and Karen Marshall, Gabrielle Macdonald and Kate McIntosh all won through to the second round of the matchplay and Wendy and Hannah to the quarter finals of the Rosebowl.

The weather got even warmer in the afternoon with very little wind. Karen Marshall and  Kate McIntosh  sadly lost and Gabrielle won taking her through to the quarter finals and Wendy won through to the semi-finals of the Rosebowl.

Tomorrow brings hopefully another glorious day and hopefully Gabrielle and Wendy on to the next stages. We wish you all the very best of luck tomorrow.
