East of Scotland Championship
The East of Scotland Championship was played today at Duddingston Golf Club on a showery but mild Autumn day. The stunning course in great condition was remarked upon by many players and some great golf was in evidence. 42 golfers competed and prizes were keenly contested.
Fiona Hastie from St. Regulas won the scatch prize with an excellent gross 72 and rock steady Lorna McKinlay was second, two behind the leader.
Our Midlothian girls, fresh from their success at the County Finals in Stirling, were in great form and it was good to see Rachael Livingstone return to close to her previous form, winning the Handicap prize with a nett 71.
Our starlet, Emily Dalgetty just gets better and better and won 3rd Scratch with a gross 74 .
Congratulations to Fife who won the County Trophy by 1 stroke from Midlothian with a gross aggregate of 223 .
