Well done to Rachael Watton (Mortonhall) who finished in 5th place at the Scottish U21 Girls' Open Amateur Stroke Play Championship this week, being held at Dunfermline (Pitfirrane) Golf Club. She missed out on winning the Menzies Trophy for the lowest aggregate score by an under 18 by 1 shot to Eilidh Briggs (Kilmacolm) but did return the best gross score in the second round, a 1 under par, 3 under the CSS 71.
At the prizegiving, the team to represent Scotland in the Girls' Home Internationals was announced. This is being played from the 4th-6th August at Bangor Golf Club and is Captained by Karen Marshall (Baberton). The Team of 8 players includes Gabrielle Macdonald (Craigielaw) and Rachael Watton. The girls will play Wales on day 1, England on day 2 and Ireland on day 3.
Good luck to you all.
