Scottish Junior Masters Grand Final

Three Midlothian girls qualified to play in the Scottish Junior Masters Grand Final which was played over the Queens course, Gleneagles today. In testing windy conditions both Gabrielle Macdonald (Prestonfield) (17)and Gillian Simpson (Baberton) (8) posted very respectable scores of 30 stableford points. Cara Easton (Dalmahoy) unfortunately had to withdraw. The girls prize was won by Jennifer Sinclair (Elie & Earlsferry) a 15 handicapper with 36 stableford points.

SLGA Adult & Junior Girl Foursomes

Congratulations to Isabel Hinds and her Mum, Kim, both of Liberton Golf Club who took first prize in the Handicap 25 to 36 section of the Scottish Adult and Junior Girl Foursomes at The Glen Golf Course.

Midlothian Girls Championship

Saturday 30 September

Jane Turner of Mortonhall birdied the last hole at Glencorse Golf Club to win the Midlothian County Junior Girls Championship and the Brown Trophy by one stroke from Rachael Livingstone of Musselburgh Old. The handicap prize and the Marshall Trophy was won by Cara Easton of Dalmahoy. At the prize-giving, junior girls who regularly play in the 9 Hole Competitions which the County run for beginners throughout the year were also presented with their prizes.
Gabrielle Macdonald (Prestonfield) received the Livingstone Trophy for most improved player of the year. Gabrielle has reduced her handicap from 30 to 17 this year. Well done Gabrielle. Our thanks go to Rachael Livingstone for very kindly donating this trophy to the juniors.

East of Scotland Championship

Sunday 1st October
Claire Hargan (Mortonhall) won the East of Scotland Championship at Stirling Golf Club today with a score of 70, two shots ahead of Heather MacRae (Dunblane) and Alison Davidson (Stirling). The handicap was won by Vicki Stevenson (Stirling) with a net score of 70. Vicki won on the better inward half from Mandy Easton (Dalmahoy).

Congratulations, Claire on a great victory.

The Team Trophy was won by Stirling & Clackmannan with Midlothian runner-up.
