Good luck to Eilidh Crawford (Harburn) and Emma Morrison (Craigmillar Pk) playing in the Scottish under 14s at Buchannan Castle next week and all the girls playing in the East of Scotland Girls championship at Murrayfield. Also all the 'oldies' playing in the Scottish Seniors at Kemnay. Busy week!!

Summer Meeting Draw

The draw for the Summer Meeting at Prestonfield on Tuesday 10 July is now available.  Click under DRAWS on the left hand side of this page.

There will be the usual raffle in aid of our junior golf programme and any prizes would be appreciated.

East Girls Retain Inter-divisional Trophy

Congratulations to the East of Scotland Girls team, which included Hannah Scott (Broomieknowe), and Jessica and Emily Dalgetty (Glencorse), who today retained the inter-divisional trophy at Balumbie Castle.  Both East and West went into today's final matches with full points.   Going down the 18th, the top pairing of Hannah and Emily were all square, and the match was all square, both teams having won a game each.  Hannah and Emily in true Midlothian style had fought back from four down to square the match on 16 and 17 was halved. Hannah hit a fabulous drive and Emily put it on the green with Hannah canning a ten footer to win the game and match!  Well done girls!

County Matches 2102

This is the story .... On Saturday the monsoons came. Would we play, would we not? Sunday - amazingly the course was open albeit on a few winter greens and no trolleys - a few moans and groans and carry bags produced. Got half way round and the heavens opened again - so back to the clubhouse. Contingency plans hatched....

Day 1 ... no rain, course open.  Team happy and ready to go...

Solid start against Stirling and Clackmannanshire winning 6.5 - 2.5 (foursomes 2-1: singles 4.5-1.5)
Day 2: Fife - More sunshine

But at lunchtime the mood was not sunny after loosing the foursomes 3-0. Time to regroup- we did it last year, we can do it again! and yes we did - in some style. In typical Midlothain style the girls dug very deep  - they were awesome, winning 5.5 points out of six!!  I'm sure we had a bit of divine intervention!!

Day 3: East Lothian - getting ready to finish the job ....

 Fantastic performance. 3-0 in the foursomes and 4.5-1.5 in singles.  A true team effort!

We are off to Montrose in September to defend our Scottish County Trophy!

Thanks to all our fantastic caddies and supporters, to VC Sheila, Secretary Hilary, President Janet, Selector Linda for all their hard work and support over the three days and to Agnes Leslie our Tournament Secretary.

A huge thank you to Turnhouse Golf Club who were fantastic hosts and in particular Turnhouse Lady Captain  Isla McCrone, for her brilliant hard work and organisation prior to and during the competition.  The course was amazing considering the pre match monsoons - a big thank you to Gavin and his greens staff.

Champions 2012!

We did it!  Another fantastic performance by the Midlothian team, defeating East Lothian 7.5 - 1.5 today to retain the East Division County Trophy.  Off to the County Finals in Montrose in September!

Comeback kids

Another nailbiting match against Fife. In a repeat of last year we lost the morning foursomes 3-0. Then in true Midlothian style, the girls dig deep, played fantastic golf and displayed the most amazing team  spirit to win the singles 5.5-0.5 and secure overall victory. Girls you were awesome!

Countdown to 2012!

Countdown to the 2012 East Division Inter-County matches in underway!! Captain and VC are ready to get the party started!    The matches take place at Turnhouse Golf Club from Monday 18 to Wednesday 20 June.

Please come and support your Midlothian team if you can!! Morning foursomes matches start at 9am on each of the three days and afternoon singles at 1.45pm.

From your Curtis Cup Ambassador - Anne Brownie .......After an emotional roller coaster ride following the 2012 Curtis Cup matches over the Nairn golf links, the scoreboard says all that needs to be said. Winning the singles matches clinched the Cup for GB & I for the first time since 1996. Well done our fantastic team and well done and thanks to all from Midlothian who turned up in Nairn to swell the numbers of home support.

 Blue skies this am in Nairn for final practice. Looking good. Now just looking forward to some great matches and hopefully the Curtis Cup joining the other trophies held this side of the Pond!!!

Remembering Ethel
