MCLGA Autumn Meeting - Prestonfield Golf Club 5th September

The draw for the Autumn meeting is now available on the draw section of the website and has also been issued to the club reps for information.

There are a limited number of spaces still available should anyone wish a late entry.  Please contact me on 0790 319 1009  if you want to enter.

We will also be holding a raffle on the day in aid of junior funds and we would appreciate it if you are able to bring something along on the day.

MCLGA Girls Championship

This event will be held at Turnhouse this year, on Sunday 10th September 2017, with times from 2.00pm. All juniors with a CONGU handicap who would like to play please email sharonmac67@sky.com before 3rd September.

Results from Adult and Girl Event on 20th August 2017

17 girls took part in this competition with their adults. The weather was kind to us, with very little wind and no rain! There were some great scores.

Winners of the scratch prize were Georgia and Sarah Ledingham with a score of 33 (better last 6 holes).

1st Handicap winners were Emily and Brian Tait, 27-8.25 = 18.75
2nd Handicap prize - Victoria and Andrew Weir, 33-10.5 = 22.5
3rd Handicap prize - Ruby and Peter Keys, 43-20.5 = 22.5

MCLGA Ladies Triam

Below is a report on the Ladies Triam from Fiona Ford. 

On behalf of Midlothian I would like to thank Fiona and her team for organising such a successful, and enjoyable event.  Many thanks also to Murrayfield Golf Club for giving us courtesy of the course and to the catering staff for providing such a tasty menu and looking after us so well.

Finally the golfing gods smiled on us for a competition and we were blessed with fantastic weather. The course was in great condition in spite of the heavy rain recently and hopefully  everyone enjoyed their round.

Our thanks to the Captain and club of Murrayfield for giving us courtesy of the course. This has allowed us to raise over £1000 for MCLGA funds. Thanks to all who helped organise the event.

Upcoming Adult/Girl Foursomes Competition, Sunday 20th August 2017, Swanston Templar course

This popular 9 hole foursomes competition will be held on Sunday 20th August, with tee times from 9.30am. The cost is £10 per pair, payable on the day.

If you would like to enter please email sharonmac67@sky.com with names and handicaps (if you have one), by Sunday 13th August. The draw will be available on this website from Wednesday 16th August.

Adults/girls do not have to have a handicap to enter this event, and if your daughter does not have a partner to play with but would like to play please let us know and we will do our best to arrange for someone to play with her.

Ladies' British Open Amateur Stroke Play Championship

Ladies British Amateur Open

The Ladies British Amateur Open is being played at North Berwick West Links this year 6^th to 8^th September. (Practice rounds on the 4^th and 5^th)

The handicap limit for entry is 6.4, but because the field is not usually full due to the time of year it is played, its likely that anyone off 6.4 or less will get in.

Most of the really low European amateurs are back at University so those studying abroad are unable to play hence the field size always being small.

The maximum field size is 120 and there are only 60 players entered so far, closing date for entries is 14 August. I think the entry is £40/£50.

 

Finding further details of the British Ladies competition is really quite hard  - Scottish Golf refer you to the R&A and then you have to search. It seems that players are probably best to contact North Berwick GC direct and details are below.
