Congratulations to Vivien Mitchel (Lochend) who won the bronze division SLGA East Regional Medal Finals at Kircaldy GC last week. And to Kate Johnston (Baberton) who was 4th in the silver division.

The closing date for the MCLGA Biennial TriAm is Monday 22 July.  This is a popular and fun competition  held this year at Glencorse Golf Club Monday on Monday 12 August 2013. The entry fee is £30 per team. The competition is open to all Midlothian members including Associate and Juniors (with a CONGU handicap).

Midlothian retain East Division County Trophy

Congratulations to the Midlothian team who drew with Fife today to retain the East Division County title. We halved both the foursomes and singles in a typical Midlothian Fife tussle.

Midlothian still on track!

What a day at Glenbervie. The team faced East Lothian after our neighbours had beaten Fife 8–1 yesterday. The morning foursomes were tight with three great matches which could have gone either way.  But in true Midothian style the girls put in some gutsy performances to take the foursomes 3-0. Could they keep it up in the afternoon? Yes they did, winning 5 out of 6 for an amazing 8-1 victory.

Some great golf was played but a relatively young team. Well done team - lets finish it tomorrow against Fife

East Division County Matches June 24 - 26

Our team is competing in the East Division County matches at Glenbervie Golf Club this week.
Glenbervie is just over half an hour's drive from Edinburgh and tee times are from 9am and 1.45 pm on Monday and from 9.30am and 2.30pm on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The weather forecast is good and we have a great team so why not spend a day watching good golf and helping our girls to retain the Trophy.

Junior/Adult Competition 2013

The annual Junior/Adult Competition will be held at Swanston on Sunday 18 August 2013. This  fun, foursomes competition is open to all junior members (with or without a handicap) and an adult partner (male or female). Download an entry form below:

Junior 9 hole Competition Sunday 16th June

6 girls took part in the 9 hole competition at Swanston yesterday.
The weather was warm and sunny with virtually no wind - yes, really!

Results were as follows:

This competition is open to all girls with or without a handicap - and girls, if you can't find a willing Mum, Dad , relative or friend to play with, we will find you one.

What a wonderful day to play golf. First real warmth of the season.

Liberton was at its best thanks to their new greenkeeper and we were made to feel very welcome by all there. Thank you.

St Rule Trophy

Congratulations to Gabrielle Macdonald (Craigielaw) who came joint 5th overall in the St Rule trophy at St. Andrews at the weekend.
The St Rule Trophy event is one of the most prestigious tournaments on the British amateur women's calendar and attracts all the top amateur players.
Gabrielle scored a magnificent seven under par 220  (73,76,71 ) equalling the best score by anyone in the final round.
Well done, Gabrielle.

The event was won by Ailsa Summers (Carnoustie) with a 211 (67,72,72)
