County Finals

Early Warning

A very big thank you to the caddies who worked at Mortonhall - you were awesome.  A positive contribution to team performance!

Congratulations to our County Team on a commanding win at the Jamboree (East Division Inter County Matches) at Mortonhall.   The County Finals will be held at Aboyne, Aberdeenshire from 16th until 18th September.

MCLGA members did a tremendous job of caddying for the team and I hope many of you will be able to travel north to support the players in similar fashion.  For all MCLGA members, whether caddying at the Jamboree or not, if you are interested in being on a bag or simply happy to encourage and watch at Aboyne  please get in touch with me.  Perhaps we could look at accommodation nearby.

A Big thank you to our sponsors of our kit. The Braid Hill golf Course and PSL (Proven Sport Ltd) or as we call it Pretty Special Ladies. They looked really great on.

The matches were played in the friendliest of atmosphere and there was great comraderie between everyone despite the obvious rivalry. Many faces that are familiar but also really positive to see new young players coming through.

And lastly a huge thank you to all the admin staff, Green staff and Catering. You looked after us really well and we are so grateful for all your help. A fantastic venue for our event

Some amazing shots were played today and one especially when the ball was almost completely buried in the bunker. A shot that would put fear into most golfers was calmly played out by Kate no problem.

Stilrling and Clackmannan beat East Lothian 8 matches to 1.

We now play East Lothian tomorrow morning at 09.30. Keeping fingers crossed the rain stays away again.

Day 1 of the County matches at Mortonhall.

What a beautiful morning for golf with lovely sunshine and warm temperatures and then as forecast at 2pm the rains came and came and came until we were getting slightly worried about the greens. Luckily it eased off and eased the situation.

Despite the weather there was some amazing and exciting golf played as matches went one way and then the other. Most matches ending on the 17th or 18th in the afternoon singles.

Our girls did us proud by turning the matches around to win 6.5 to 2.5 against Stirling and Clackmannan.

Full results below

We are off at 09.30 tomorrow against Fife for those who wish to come and watch. We had a good turn out of spectators today and we are all really grateful for that support.
