East of Scotland Championship 2012

The 2012 East of Scotland Championship will be held at Kirkcaldy Golf Club on Sunday 7 October. This competition is open to all County members in the East Division.  Information and entry form below.

Two great rounds from Gabrielle Macdonald (Craigielaw) leave her in 2nd place, one shot behind the leader going into the final day of the Scottish under 21s Championship tomorrow. She had rounds of 73 and 71 to be 2 under par. Play well tomorrow Gabrielle.

Unfortunately Rachael Watton has had to withdraw from this weeks Scottish under 21s Championship at Blairgowrie as a result of a car accident, which has left her with whiplash injuries. We wish you a speedy recovery Rach.

Junior Girls News

Congratulations to Hannah Scott on finishing 3rd in the stoke play at the Scottish Girls last week. Hannah had a great win in the first round of match play but came up against eventual finalist Ailsa Summers and unfortunately narrowly lost a very close game. Well done Kisty Burgess for qualifying for the 2nd flight match play. Good luck to Hannah, Kate McIntosh, Gabrielle Macdonald, Rachael Watton, Emily and Jessica Dalgetty and Eilidh Crawford who are playing in the Scottish Ladies Junior Stroke play Championship at Blairgowrie this week.

Rearranged Summer Meeting at Prestonfield

The Summer Meeting at Prestonfield has now been re-arranged for Monday 13th August. However, morning tee times will start at 9am and therefore all morning times will be 1 hour later than scheduled on the original draw.  Hilary will email all those originally taking part to confirm availability. Louise is Highland Champ

Congratulations to Louise Fraser (Kingsknowe) who won The Highland Open in Pitlochry last week.  It was apparently quite a final against Karen Ferguson (Liberton), with Louise just managing to win with a birdie on the 19th

Summer Meeting Cancelled

It won't come as much of a surprise but the Summer Meeting due to be played at Prestonfield on Tuesday has been cancelled. We will try to arrange another date and get information to your county reps and via the website. Watch this space.

Congratulations

Well done Hannah Scott (Broomieknowe)who has qualified for the final of the East of Scotland Girls Championship (to be played at a later date due to weather delays). Hannah also won the scratch at the Janice Moody Trophy at Windyhill last week. And congratulations to Karen Ballantyne (Craigmillar Pk), who having narrowly missed out on qualification for the Scottish Seniors Matchplay, went on to win the nett competition. Well done Murrayfield on winning the Morrison Millar Tournament which was reduced to one round and to Sal Shepherd and Oliva Fulton (Craigmillar Pk) who had the best scratch score.
