Girls Start New Year at Swanston

Fifteen girls turned out today on a windy and nippy day at our new venue, The Templar Course at Swanston, for the first 9 hole competition of the year. It was nice to see green grass again and the course was in remarkable condition despite the weather we have had. Considering the recent lack of golfing practice and the windy conditions, some fantastic scores were posted as follows:

Handicap
Emma Morrison 40 (13) 27
Eilidh Crawford 42 (13) 29
Emma Watson 48 (18) 30

Non-handicap
Caitlan Turner 45
Alex Massey 47
Katie Holt 53

Caitlan, Alex and Katie - we are expecting to hear about you gaining your first handicap this year!

Thanks to our new Junior Secretary Sandra Hennessy for getting everyone (including the Captain) organised and to Linda Caine, Sal Shepherd and Sharon MacPherson for helping the girls, enthusiastically supported by Vice Captain and President.

Thanks also to Swanston Golf for agreeing to host these competitions in 2011. Not only did the girls enjoy the golf, but parents (and Auntie Karen Marshall) and officials all enjoyed some warm tea, coffee, hot chocolate (and the odd sticky bun) afterwards.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year to all our members. Lets hope we can get back on our courses soon and make up for all those lost weeks of golf.

Just to remind you that round 2 of the Winter Foursomes has been extended until 31 January and round 3 until 28 February. It's time to get back on the phone and re-arrange all those matches.

Lets hope that's the end of all the bad weather and we wish you all the best and happy golfing for 2011.
