Summer Meeting at Kingsknowe GC - Monday 11th July

Ladies, just a reminder that our Summer Meeting is at Kingsknowe on Monday, 11th July.  Although the deadline was last Friday, you can still enter if you would like to.  Those of you who have already enterered, I will be doing the draw and posting on line sometime towards the end of next week. 

Change to Midlothian team for the Jamboree

Kirsten Blackwood will now be playing in the team in place of Gabrielle Macdonald in the County matches that start next Sunday 26th at Mortonhall. Please do come along and support us.

We wish Gabrielle Macdonald the very best of luck when she plays in this Championship this coming week. Hope you do as well as in the Scottish.

Well done to one of our Juniors, Carys Irvine, for coming 13th in this competition at Cardrona

Scottish School Girls

This competition was cut short to only 18 holes due to imminent thunder and lightening.

Our Megan Linton, last years Junior Champion won the handicap trophy with a net 67.

Brilliant , well done Megan.

Scottish Open Amateur

What a close match for the final of the Scottish Amateur between our Gabrielle Macdonald from
Craigielaw and Ailsa Summers from Carnoustie. Gabrielle was 2 down at the third but got back to all square. The match was then pretty even until Gabrielle hit a shot into the 16th green that was a bit wide and then was just below the lip of the bunker at the 17th. Ailsa took full advantage of this to win out 2 and one.

Friday had been another exciting day for our Midlothian players. Wendy Nicholson won through to the Clarke Rosebowl finals by beating Ruth Hunter.
Despite trying to do one of her great fight backs she lost the final to Jennifer Rankine. Well done Wendy.

Others who also played were Louise Fraser from Kingknowe, Alison McBride for Harburn and Carys Irvine one of our juniors from Craigielaw. She played really well for her first time in this competition reaching the matchplay stages of the Rosebowl.

 Well done girls you put up a great show in the most amazing weather on a wonderful course by the sea.

Silver Medal at Kirkcaldy

Very well done to Lynn Cackett on winning the East Regional medal final at Kirkcaldy with a net 70. CSS was 76.
